Blog Fight!!!

The first rule of blogger fight club is: You better know your shit or at least run a humor blog so when you're wrong you can say: I was just joking.

The Pitch awarded Josh Rosenau the title of "best blogger" and anybody who has read his work has to acknowledge that he's probably the smartest. In a recent post, Rosenau takes apart the FDM team and their "attempt to appear well informed on polling methodology."

FDM and their readers take some joy in ignoring inconvenient data, and that's fine. But that's a good way to lose. Polls are people speaking. Ignoring the ones who disagree is a guaranteed way to fail, and that's the only way to turn the third of Kansas that calls itself Independent into a sixth of your sample.

In rap parlance, we call this "dropping mad science" on a mofo. I sensed that FDM was spinning the numbers as well but I'm not expert (or nerdy) enough to argue with them. I can deconstruct them and tell you why they might be gay, reinforcing the hegemony or racist but that's about it. As for the likability of Kansas politicians, the last leader I liked from Kansas was Chief Black Kettle.
