Energy prices are rising swiftly and even though it’s sweltering outside, soon the winter/holiday season will be upon us. Practice this festive phrase in order gear up for the holidays: “Put a sweater on and shut up Grandma!”

Residential customers of Missouri Gas Energy can expect to pay more for natural gas in the next few months as the company tries to keep up with high fuel prices.

The utility received state approval today for a 33 percent rate increase, effective Friday.
