The better to rule you with

Things are tough all over OR Politicians and developers go together like large bills and briefcases:

Overland Park and Mission residents have lost a two-month battle against plans for a seven-story office building at Shawnee Mission Parkway and Lamar Avenue.

Early Tuesday morning — after four hours of debate — the Overland Park City Council voted 10-2 in favor of replacing Waddell & Reed Financial Inc.’s current two-story building with a seven-story, 220,000-square-foot structure in United Investors Park.
